Not Necessary To Contact Google If You Accidentally Click Onto Your Own Google Adsense Ad

This morning while checking out my blog, I clicked onto one of my Google Adsense ads by mistake.  I immediately did a search on Google Adsense Help for "accidentally click own ad".  Here is what Google Help said about accidentally clicking on your own Adsense ad:

Although publishers are not permitted to click on their own ads for any reason, we do understand that accidental clicks may occur. We therefore don't require that you contact us every time you click on your ads. Rest assured that your account is being properly credited for all clicks and impressions we consider to be valid.

After reading this I sighed a breath of relief, because I was picturing having my Google Adsense account terminated by Google for my error.

A few minutes later, I signed into my Google Adsense Report.  It showed my click, but to my surprise $0.00 in earnings for the click.

My conclusion is that Google must have a software program that automatically detects if a Google Adsense owner clicks onto his or her ads.  They must do this by identifying the IP address that I access my Google Adsense account.

Anyways, it is good to know that it is not necessary to report to Google if you accidentally click onto one of your Google Adsense ads.  It is also a relief to know that Google wont close your Google Adsense account for accidentally clicking on your own Google Adsense ad.
