DrPic: Free Online Picture Editor

I found a really useful, easy to use, and free online picture editor and image host called DrPic, formerly PicResize.  This handy dandy tool is a great alternative to using a software image editor, such as IrfanView .

DrPic began in 2005 as a College project for a student and has evolved into what is apparently "one of the most popular online image editing tools available on the Internet".  From my short experience with this nifty free online tool I can certainly see why it is so well used.

This free online picture editor can be used to perform a wide variety of functions such as resizing, shrinking, and cropping your photos, pictures, or images before uploading them to your website and/or blog.  Other cool features include adding text with various fonts, elimating color, or rotating(turn it around or upside down) your image to name a few.  You can also use DrPic to convert your picture to JPG, GIF, PNG, or BMP.

I used DrPic today to resize and shrink a few images, converting another from BMP to JPG.  I know I sound like an infomercial but I must say it was so simple to use and did a great job.

Another thing I like is that it really is free - no catches.  I didn't even have to register.  Thus I don't have to worry about being bombarded with even more spam, but that's another story!

Not using your own computer or want to save your image online?  No problem.  You can upload your picture to DrPic's free image host.  Believe it or not no signing up required for this service either.  After using DrPic to edit your photo to your hearts content simply click onto the hyperlink on the left toolbar "Save to Web".  Your image will be uploaded to DrPic's server, assigned its very own publicly assessable URL.  Pretty cool, eh?  How can you tell I'm Canadian, eh?!?

If you are ever in need for a free online picture editor and/or image host for your photos enhancements and/or to host your image than I highly reccomend DrPic.
